A contact agreement is a contract between the Certification Authority (CA) and the Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate owner.

In order for the CA to issue a Premium Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate, the requesting organization must submit a contact agreement signed by a person who is authorized to act on behalf of the organization.

The contact agreement must:

  • Name the organization the CA is issuing the certificate to
  • Name the application signer who is acting on behalf of the organization
  • Name the company with which the signer is affiliated
  • Carry the signature and date from the contact
