Responding to Forwarded Emails for Domain Names with Privacy
Domains By Proxy® (DBP) creates a unique email address for each domain name with Private Registration. Click here to see the difference between your personal email address and the one DBP creates for you.
When someone sends a message to the email address that DBP creates for you, DBP acts according to the email forwarding preference you set for your account. Specifically, DBP forwards your email without filtering it, filters it for spam and then forwards it to you, or does not forward it at all.
For security purposes, DBP forwards your email messages from a "do not reply" email address. Therefore, you cannot reply directly to forwarded messages. If you attempt to send a reply to a forwarded message, DBP responds with an error message. This security measure ensures the privacy of your personal email address and prevents you from mistakenly exposing it.
To respond to a forwarded message, you must compose a new email message in the email account of your choice. You can find the sender's email address in the subject line of the forwarded email message.
If you send a new email message, you willingly expose your personal email address to the recipient.
To adjust your email forwarding preference, see Setting Email Forwarding Preferences for Domain Names with Privacy.
To update the email address to which DBP forwards your email messages, see Updating Contact Information for Domain Names with Privacy.
