Can I prevent Website Protection Site Scanner from submitting forms?
NOTE:Some features in this article are only available in the full version of Site Scanner. For more information on how to upgrade, see Upgrading from Website Protection Malware Scanner to Website Protection Site Scanner.
Website Protection Site Scanner is designed to check every process on your website. Daily scans detect vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting in your site by following internal links, submitting forms, posting comments and performing other tests.
During a scan, Site Scanner submits forms multiple times with unique information in each submission. Depending on your site's configuration, Site Scanner might submit the forms on your site up to several thousand times to identify a wide variety of vulnerabilities.
If you want to prevent Site Scanner from scanning your forms, you can add a CAPTCHA on the form page. CAPTCHA tools help prevent automated form submissions by requiring human eyes to interpret and submit displayed information.
Note: Form submission is an important part to Site Scanner's daily scan. If you do not allow Site Scanner to scan your form, it will not be able to discover possible vulnerabilities in the form submission process.
