Managing Your Secure Certificate Account
While the new version of our secure certificate management software enhances usability and productivity, there is also an important change that may affect how you access your account(s).
Do you go to certs.starfieldtech.com and click a button like the one below to login and manage your SSLs?
If so, you are using an independent sign on (ISO) account. ISO accounts allowed you to set up accounts separately from your point-of-purchase customer account.
As ISO accounts are being removed, you will need to determine the customer account(s) in which the secure certificate(s) reside and log in to that specific account to manage your secure certificate(s).
The process to determine the customer account(s) differs depending on your unique situation:
Webmaster Managing Clients' Secure Certificates Using an ISO Account
If you are a webmaster managing secure certificates using an ISO account there is a possibility that you will temporarily lose access to some of the secure certificates you are managing.
To make this transition easier, here are some recommended options:
- Client self-management: Your client can manage his or her own secure certificates by logging in to their customer account. For help retrieving their log in information, have them use the following article: Retrieving your Customer Number or Resetting Your Password. Additionally, our 24/7 technical support, as well as our help center, can assist them with account management questions.
- Client account share: If your client is comfortable sharing their account user name and password, you can manage your client's secure certificates through their individual accounts. We do not endorse this option and never recommend sharing account log in information.
Client Whose Webmaster Provided ISO Account Login
If your webmaster gave you an ISO account login, you will lose management access to your secure certificates. Here's what you can do to proceed:
- Request for your webmaster to continue to manage your secure certificates without your involvement.
- Contact Customer Service and discuss additional options.
Individual Using an ISO Account to Manager Secure Certificates in One or Multiple Customer Accounts
If you are managing multiple secure certificates using an ISO account, you will need to track down the customer accounts that contain your secure certificates. Here are some tips:
- Locate secure certificate renewal notices in your email. Renewal notices contain information to help you identify the account containing the secure certificate.
- Use our Account Assistance to find the accounts containing your secure certificates. For more information, see Retrieving your Customer Number or Resetting Your Password.
- Contact our 24/7 Customer Support for any difficulties you encounter.
Individual Who Created an ISO Account for Their Webmaster
Your webmaster will no longer have access to your secure certificates. Here's how you can proceed:
- Self-management: You can manage your own secure certificates by logging in to your customer account. For help retrieving your log in information, use the following article: Retrieving your Customer Number or Resetting Your Password. Additionally, our 24/7 technical support, as well as our help center, can assist you with account management questions.
- Account share: If you are comfortable sharing your account user name and password, your webmaster can manage your client's secure certificates through their individual accounts. We do not endorse this option and never recommend sharing account log in information.
