What is .NET 4.0?
Microsoft's® .NET 4.0 is a development platform used to create dynamic websites and Web applications. The .NET Framework is used for building applications that have optimal user experiences. It supports numerous Web technologies, including Language Integrated Query (LINQ), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), Windows® Communication Foundation (WC) and Silverlight®.
The 4.0 release concentrated on stability, performance, and usability improvements. These performance improvements are virtually transparent, but include updates to ASP.NET runtime that make ASP.NET 4.0 applications run more efficiently and use less resources. The .NET 4.0 upgrade also includes several new features to the Web form engine.
The .NET 4.0 upgrade is available in Windows Web Hosting accounts NOT using IIS 6, JAVA or FrontPage® extensions.
