Why do I have to re-validate my information for an SSL certificate?
In order to maintain your SSL certificate, you need to re-validate your information every so often. It ensures we have accurate contact information and verifies you are still authorized to use the domain listed on the certificate.
How often you must re-validate depends on the type of SSL certificate you have. You either need to re-validate your information when you renew or every three years. To make sure you have plenty of time to re-validate, we send you an email with details about 90 days before you need to complete the process.
NOTE: If you request a 4- or 5-year Standard SSL after August 1, 2017 you must re-validate your information every 3 years. If you requested a 4- or 5-year certificate prior to August 8, re-validate your information when you renew.
