Adding an SSL Certificate in Website Builder
You can add an SSL certificate in your Website Builder site to provide visitors with a secure connection when they submit information, such as payment or contact details. After your SSL is issued, you can select which pages you want to secure.
You can also display a Site Seal on your website that lets your visitors know the information they send through your site is secure.
NOTE: Pages using the SSL certificate will use HTTPS instead of HTTP in your Web browser's address bar. HTTPS is the secured version of the HTTP protocol.
To Add an SSL Certificate in Website Builder
- Log in to your HostingDude Account LOGIN.
- If you are working in the Page Designer, click Exit Designer.
- From the Home screen, in the SSL Certificate section, click Upgrade.
- Follow the purchase process and complete any remaining instructions to request your SSL. The length of time it takes to approve your SSL depends in the type of certificate you purchased. For more information, see Understanding SSL Certificate Issuance Time Frames.
- If your SSL request is approved, you will receive an email letting you know it is installed.
- Log back in to your HostingDude Account LOGIN.
- From the Manage menu, click Organize Site.
- Click the thumbnail of the page you want to edit.
- Select Make this page Secure.
- Repeat these steps for any other pages in your website.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer.
- If necessary, from the Current Page menu, select the page that you want to modify.
- Click Popular, and then drag and drop the Site Seal icon over a Drop Zone. Drop Zones display on your Web pages when you hover over them.
To see your changes online, you must publish your website.
