Using the MX Records Settings Assistant
If an MX Error displays in the Account Alerts for your email address, you can click Retry MX to resubmit your MX settings for validation. If the error persists, you can use the MX Records Settings Assistant to correct your MX record settings.
To Use the MX Records Settings Assistant
- In the Account Alerts column, next to the email address with the error, click Learn More. The MX Records Settings Assistant displays.
- In the What would you like to do? section, select one of the following, and then click Save.
- Select Leave my email settings as they are and delete my Workspace email to delete the email address from Workspace Email and leave your MX record settings as they are and continue using your current, third-party email provider.
- Select Reconfigure my MX records to use Workspace email to update the MX records for this email address to work with Workspace email.
- Select Get instructions on reconfiguring my MX records to use Workspace Email to view a Help article to update your MX Records yourself.
- When the confirmation message displays, click Continue.
- If you selected to delete the email address, Email account pending delete displays in the Account Alerts column and the email address is removed from your account. You can continue to use your current third-party email account.
- If you selected to reconfigure your MX records, we automatically update your MX record settings to work with Workspace email.
NOTE: If your email was previously set up to work elsewhere, it will no longer work with that address.
Changes might take up to 48 hours to complete.
