About .build Domain Names
The .build top-level domain provides an easily identifiable extension for the Construction and Builders industry. When you showcase your building, idea, project or company with a .build extension, you'll communicate your business instantly to visitors and drive targeted customers to your site.
Pre-Registration Information
The .build launch is divided into three pre-registration phases: Trademark Holder (Sunrise), Priority Pre-Registration (Landrush) and General Availability. Each phase has specific application requirements:
Pre-Registration
Pre-registration gives you the best possible chance of securing a domain name before it's available to the general public, but it doesn't guarantee you will get it. You can pre-register for Sunrise, Landrush and General Availability phases, and we'll submit your registration application when the phase begins.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren’t able to secure the domain name, we’ll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.
NOTE: You cannot cancel your pre-registration application. If you are awarded the domain name, you have 5 days to cancel your domain name and get a refund of the registration fee only.
Trademark Holders Registration - Sunrise
Sunrise pre-registration for .build domains is currently unavailable.
From March 3, 2014, at 15:00 UTC to April 1, 2014, at 15:00 UTC, trademark holders can submit an application to register a .build domain containing their owned mark, before it's available to the public.
Trademark validation goes through the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), which is an ICANN global repository for trademark data. Visit the TMCH website for information on registering a trademark.
Bulk .build registration is not supported during Sunrise.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren’t able to secure the domain name, we’ll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.

Priority Pre-Registration - Landrush
From April 14, 2014, at 15:00 UTC to May 12, 2014, at 15:00 UTC, customers can purchase .build domain names at a premium price. A non-refundable application fee in addition to the domain's registration fee is collected when the registration request is submitted.
Bulk .build registration is not supported during Landrush.
NOTE: Domains registered during Landrush will renew at the same price as they were registered, not at the standard General Availability renewal price.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability, and then the awarded registrar will hold an auction and award the domain to the highest bidder. If you aren’t able to secure the domain name, we’ll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.
NOTE: You cannot cancel your pre-registration application. If you are awarded the domain name, you have 5 days to cancel your domain name and get a refund of the registration fee only.
General Availability
Beginning May 12, 2014, at 15:00 UTC, customers can register .build domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bulk .build registration is supported during General Availability.

NOTE: Premium one- and two-letter .build domains will be sold at auction by Afternic. The timeframe for the release of these domains, or if they will renew at the premium rate, has not yet been determined.
Registration Information
At this time, our .build launch is still in the planning stage. We'll update this article with more information as it becomes available.
Who can register .build domain names?
When pre-registration is complete, anyone can register .build domains on a first-come, first-served basis.
These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. They do not support IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) characters.
Premium one- and two-letter .build domains will be sold at auction by AfterNic. The timeframe for the release of these domains or if they will renew at the premium rate has not yet been determined.
Which registry controls .build domain names?
The Plan Bee Registry, supported by Freund and Brackey Law Firm, manages and supports the .build extension.
What is the advantage to registering .build domain names?
The new .build domain is custom-made for businesses and individuals working in the construction industry. Now builders of all kinds have an address to showcase their idea, project, building company or any other creative endeavor. Whether you’re a general contractor, foreman, finish carpenter or construction company owner, .build should be the first tool you reach for online.
For how long can I register .build domain names?
You can pre-register a .build domain name for one year.
NOTE: Soon, we'll offer .build registrations for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.
When do .build domain names renew?
We will attempt to auto-renew your .build domain name on its expiration date. If the renewal is not successful, we will park .build domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.
Can I transfer .build domain names to my account with you?

Can I add privacy and protection to .build domain names?
Yes. Domains by Proxy Private Registration and Protected Regisration are available for .build domain names.
Can I backorder .build domain names?
No. We currently do not support that backorder of .build domain names.

Are there nameserver requirements for my .build domain names?
One nameservers is required for .build domain to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. Vanity nameservers are supported.
