Upgrading Your Server's Operating System

WARNING: Upgrading your server's operating system requires a reprovision of your server, which erases all data on your server's hard drives. We strongly recommend backing up your data before upgrading your operating system. For more information, see How can I back up the data on my server?.
If your server uses an older operating system, you might be presented with a message that a newer version of your operating system is available.
To Upgrade Your Server's Operating System
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Servers.
- Next to the server you want to use, click Launch.
- From the Support menu, select Reprovision Server.
- (Optional) Enter a new Hostname and Username. If you leave these fields empty, your server continues to use the same host name and user name.
- Confirm the upgraded operating system is listed.
- Enter and confirm a new password, and then click Submit.
Once we reprovision your server with the upgraded operating system, we email you confirmation.
