How do I request additional SMTP relays for a VPS or Dedicated Server?
By default, dedicated and Virtual Private Servers (VPS) have a limit of 1,000 SMTP relays per day. You can submit a trouble ticket to request an SMTP relay limit increase. The trouble ticket includes the information we need to evaluate the request.
There are two options for requesting an SMTP relay increase: normal business use and mass mailings. Please create a trouble ticket from within your Hosting Control Panel to request one of the following:
Requesting an Increase for Mass Mailings
Please provide all of the following information in your request:
NOTE: Incomplete requests are rejected.
- Provide a brief explanation of your newsletter or marketing campaign. For example: "Every Monday I send a newsletter to all of my customers."
- Provide the maximum number of relays you require per day. We do not provide unlimited relays. If you do not provide a specific amount, the default limit is 5,000 per day.
- Provide a sample copy of the email message. Include the sample in your response or post it to a Web page and provide the URL. Newsletters and market campaigns must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.
- Your newsletter or marketing campaign must include an opt-out link in the message. If your message does not include an opt-out link, we deny the relay increase request.
- Acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by our Anti-Spam Policy.
- From your dedicated or Virtual Private Server Control Panel, in the Support section, click Trouble Tickets to submit the information.
Requesting an Increase for Normal Business Use
Please provide all of the following information in your request:
NOTE: Incomplete requests are rejected.
- Provide the approximate number of email users on the server. This can be the projected number of users.
- Provide the approximate number of relays each email user requires per day. We increase the limit based on your response. For example, 100 users, sending 50 messages per day, requires 5,000 relays per day.
- Acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by our Anti-Spam Policy.
- From your dedicated or Virtual Private control panel, in the Support section, click Trouble Tickets to submit the information.
