Sorting the File List in the FTP File Manager
NOTE: Before you start, click here to see which version of the FTP File Manager is in your Control Panel. This help article applies to the Classic FTP File Manager. This option is not available in the New File Manager.
Using the FTP File Manager in the Hosting Control Panel, you can sort lists of files and directories by name, size, date modified, or file type.
To Sort Your FTP File Manager List
- Log in to your HostingDude Account LOGIN.
- Click Web Hosting.
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
- From the Tools section, click FTP File Manager.
- Sort items in the file list by clicking the column header.
Clicking a column header multiple times toggles the sort direction. For example, clicking the Date Modified header, sorts list items according to their modification date. This action places the most recently modified items on top. Clicking the header a second time reorders the files with the oldest file on top.
NOTE: Directories are kept together in the list and are initially sorted in ascending order.
To Set the Page Size and Paging Increment
- From the Tools section, click FTP File Manager.
- Set the page size to display either 10, 25, or 50 items per page in the Page Size menu.
- Navigate through multiple pages using the forward and back arrows at the top of the page or by selecting specific pages.
For example, if you have 30 items in your list and set the Page Size to 25, your items occupy two pages. Your initial view displays as "Page 1 of 2." You can navigate back and forth between the pages using the orange arrow buttons or using the menu to select either Page 1 or Page 2.
