Exporting Contact Lists in Express Email Marketing
Exporting your Express Email Marketing® Contact list into a CSV file lets you bring your list into other applications, such as an Excel spreadsheet. When exporting your list, consider these guidelines:
- If you do not select any interest group or demographic options, the file contains all Contacts (email addresses only).
- If you select interest group options but no demographic options, the file contains all Contacts (email addresses only) belonging to the selected interest group.
- If you select a demographic option (standard or custom), the file contains all Contacts or all interest group members (email addresses) AND includes the selected demographic item and corresponding answer for each Contact.
- The exported file does not filter data; that is, you cannot select to export only those Contacts who meet a certain demographic criteria (for example, only females or Arizona residents).
To Export a Contact List in Express Email Marketing
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Express Email Marketing.
- Next to the account you want to use, click Launch.
- Click Contacts, and then click Export List.
- Select from the following criteria:
- Interest Groups — Public and/or private interest groups.
- Demographics to Export — Standard and custom questions. Questions vary depending on the standard and custom questions you added to your surveys and campaigns.
- Contact Options — Contact options (Confirmed, Confirmed Date, and Confirmed IP).
- To compress your exported file in ZIP format, under Export Options, select Compress file.
- Select one of the following:
- Download now — Download the CSV or ZIP file when processing is complete
- Send the results via email — When finished, send the CSV or ZIP file as an attachment in an email message. Large lists may take several minutes to process.
- Click OK.
