Transitioning from MobileMe to Web Hosting

Apple® discontinued MobileMe service on June 30, 2012, and we want to make sure you have the information you need to get your website online again.

Here are step-by-step directions to help you transition from MobileMe to Web hosting:

  1. Purchase a new hosting plan.
  2. Set up your hosting account. For more information, see Setting up Your Hosting Account.
  3. Update your domain name's nameservers and select I have a hosting account with these domains. For more information about updating nameservers, see Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names
  4. Edit the www CNAME record for the domain name to point to @. For more information, see the Editing CNAME Records section in Managing DNS for Your Domain Names.
  5. When your hosting account is set up, you should upload your website's files. Do one of the following:

    NOTE: To move the iWeb files into the root folder, see Moving Files between Directories in the File Manager.
